Google Adsense has become familiar, though not a spectacular deal, to most of the Internet marketing community at this point for earning money. Adsense can be worthwhile if you have a good understanding of it as you can be earning money through Google Adsense.
Google Adsense is small contextual ads that are published on web sites with the consent of the web site's owner. The ads are designed by publishers for selling and marketing purposes. These ads are named Adwords, which is also a program sponsored by Google.
Google Adwords and Adsense go together hand in hand. The person who created the ad pays Google a predetermined price every time someone who does a search on Google or one of their affiliate networks clicks on one of the sponsored ads. 'Pay per click' is the term that was coined for this.
Google has to split the money they receive from the creator or publisher of the ad with the person who owns or hosts the web site that the Adwords ads appear and that is the uniqueness of Adsense. It is a well guarded secret what the percentage of the split is, and it does vary, but for our purposes let's say it's 50%.
Google and the host of the web site split the money paid by the publisher. So if a publisher paid .40 per click for his Adwords ad, then the host of the web site who welcomed Adsense can expect to get .20 and Google gets to keep the other .20 every time someone clicks on the ad that appears on the host's web site. So Google and web site owners are sort of like partners in this.
In the most appropriate way Adsense is described. What does this signify? Well, let me give an example that probably illustrates it best. Let's say a website owned by Mary features women's clothing. If Mary wanted to monetize her web site with Google Adsense the ads that would be shown would all be related to clothing, and more precisely, women's clothing. If a page of her web site was dedicated to shoes, then the Adsense ads appearing on that page would be for women's shoes.
So how do we determine the price per click? This is where the Adwords side of the equation kicks in. Keywords are bid on by Adwords publishers. If a keyword is particularly sought after, then the publisher will pay more per click. The value of keywords can be anywhere from a few cents to over $50 for each click.
It doesn't take a genius to see how a popular web site with a lot of traffic can make quite a bit of money through Google Adsense. Many Internet marketers have put sites on the web with specific content, just to attract the high paying Adsense ads. -
