Marketing (and earning money) on the Internet can make use of a simple tool called Google Adsense. Google Adsense can be a very lucrative venture for some so having a better understanding of Adsense is worthwhile when it comes to earning money.
With the consent of the website owner, small contextual ads called as Google Adsense are published on their sites. Publishers that are selling products and/or creating brand awareness create the ads. The created ads are called Adwords that is also a Google sponsored program.
There is a very tight relationship between Google Adwords and Adsense. Every time someone does a search on Google or one of their partner networks and clicks on one of the sponsored ads, then the person who created that ad will pay Google a predetermined price. This is where the term "pay per click" comes from.
Now the beauty of Adsense is that the person who owns or hosts the website that the Adwords ads appear on will split the amount of money that Google receives from the creator or publisher of the ad. It is not common knowledge exactly what the percentage split is, and it is not always the same, but let's assume for our purposes 50%.
For example if the Adwords ad generates .40 per click, then the Adsense program pays the website host .20 when the ad is clicked on their website. The other .20 is kept by Google. So in effect, this is a partnership between the website owners and Google.
In the most relevant way possible Adsense is shown. What does this entail? Well, probably an example would be the best way to illustrate this. Let's assume a website featuring women's clothing that is owned by Mary. Google Adsense once Mary decides to monetize her website can help her to show ads on her website that would be related to clothing or to be more specific, women's clothing. In her website if shoes are dedicated to a particular page, then on that page there would be Adsense ads appearing for women's shoes.
By what dynamic is price per click determined? This is where the Adwords side of the equation kicks in. Publishers of Adwords bid on keywords. The publisher will be willing to pay more for each click if the keyword is more lucrative or sought after. Anywhere from a few cents to in excess of $50 per click is what these keywords range from.
It is not very hard to see how someone with a website that generates a decent amount of traffic can make some nice money by putting Google Adsense on their website. Web sites with specific content are created by most Internet marketers with the sole purpose of attracting high paying Adsense ads. -
