Most of the Internet marketing community is at least somewhat familiar with earning money through Google Adsense at this point. Adsense can be worthwhile if you have a good understanding of it as you can be earning money through Google Adsense.

Google Adsense is small contextual ads that are published on web sites with the consent of the site's owner. The ads are created by publishers that are selling products and/or creating brand awareness. The ads that are created are called Adwords and they are also a Google sponsored program.

Google Adwords and Adsense run hand in hand. Whenever an ad is clicked by a user performing a search on Google or one of their partner networks, the ad creator pays an amount of money to Google. This has become known as "pay per click".

Now the beauty of Adsense is that the person who owns or hosts the site that the Adwords ads appear on will split the amount of money that Google receives from the creator or publisher of the ad. For our purposes, let's assume the split is 50%, but it is a well guarded secret what exactly the percentage of the split is, but it does vary.

Say the publisher is willing to pay. 40 per click for his Adwords ad, then every time someone clicks on the ad that appears on the host's site that welcomes Adsense can expect to get roughly .20 and the other .20 goes to Google. So essentially, there is a sort of partnership that is developed between the site owners and Google.

Adsense is shown in the most relevant way possible. What does this mean? Well, probably this can be illustrated best through an example. Let's say a website owned by Mary features women's clothing. Ads on clothing or specifically women's clothing can be shown on Mary's site, if Mary decides to monetize her site with Google Adsense. In her site if shoes are dedicated to a particular page, then on that page there would be Adsense ads appearing for women's shoes.

So how is the price per click determined? This calculation is taken care of by the Adwords scheme. Adwords publishers work out the value of keywords and place bids on them. If a keyword is particularly sought after, then the publisher will pay more per click. The value of keywords can be anywhere from a few cents to over $50 for each click.

It is not very hard to see how someone with a site that generates a decent amount of traffic can make some nice money by putting Google Adsense on their site. Web sites with specific content are created by most Internet marketers with the sole purpose of attracting high paying Adsense ads. -
