At the moment, Google Adsense is well known throughout the Internet marketing community when it comes to earning money. Among the rewards of using Google Adsense is the fact that it can be used for earning money and it is worth spending some time to see how Adsense does this.
With the website owner's permission, Google Adsense places ads on the website which are targeted to the site's users. Publishers create the ads in order to either sell, or create brand awareness. Adwords, which is a Google sponsored program, is how these ads are referred to.
Google Adwords and Adsense run hand in hand. Google gets a predetermined price from the person who created the ad, every time someone who does a search on Google or one of their partner networks clicks on one of the sponsored ads. 'Pay per click' is the term that was coined for this.
This money that Google has received from the Adwords ad creator is then split with the owner of the website, which is what makes Adsense so beneficial. Although the percentage split is a well guarded secret, for our purposes we can work on 50%.
Google and the host of the website split the money paid by the publisher. So if a publisher paid .40 per click for his Adwords ad, then the host of the website who welcomed Adsense can expect to get .20 and Google gets to keep the other .20 every time someone clicks on the ad that appears on the host's website. So essentially, there is a sort of partnership that is developed between the website owners and Google.
The Adsense program displays itself in a highly relevant way. In what way? Well, probably the best way to illustrate this would be through an example. Let's say Mary had a website featuring women's clothing. If Mary wished to utilize the Google Adsense scheme on her website, the ads would be for women's clothing. If one of her pages focussed on shoes, then the Adsense ad there would also focus on shoes.
So the price per click is determined by what? The Adwords side of the equation kicks in here. The keywords are bid on by publishers of Adwords. The publisher will be willing to pay more for each click if the keyword is more lucrative or sought after. Keywords range anywhere from a few cents to in excess of $50 per click.
It is not very hard to see how someone with a website that generates a decent amount of traffic can make some nice money by putting Google Adsense on their website. Web sites with specific content are created by most Internet marketers with the sole purpose of attracting high paying Adsense ads. -
