If Mary wished to utilize the Google Adsense scheme on her website, the ads would be for women's clothing. If she had a page devoted to shoes, then any Adsense ad on that page would be for women's shoes.

So how is the price per click determined? This calculation is taken care of by the Adwords scheme. Adwords publishers work out the value of keywords and place bids on them. The amount that the publisher will pay per click is dependent on the value of the keyword. The value of keywords can be anywhere from a few cents to over $50 for each click.
