Mastering The Gains Of And Earning Money With Google Adsense

Marketing (and earning money) on the Internet can make use of a simple tool called Google Adsense. Google Adsense can be used to make not inconsiderable amounts of money, so it is worth spending the time to study how Adsense works.

Google Adsense is small contextual ads that are published on web sites with the consent of the website's owner. The ads are created for selling products and/or creating brand awareness by publishers. The ads that are created are called Adwords which is a Google sponsored program.

There is a very tight relationship between Google Adwords and Adsense. Whenever an ad is clicked by a user performing a search on Google or one of their partner networks, the ad creator pays an amount of money to Google. This has become known as "pay per click".

Now the beauty of Adsense is that the person who owns or hosts the website that the Adwords ads appear on will split the amount of money that Google receives from the creator or publisher of the ad. The percentage of the split does very and it is a well guarded secret what the percentage of the split it, but let's say it's 50% for our purposes.

If a publisher is willing to pay .40 per click for his Adwords ad, then the host of the website that welcomes Adsense can expect to see roughly .20 every time someone clicks on that ad that appears on their website. The other .20 is kept by Google. So essentially, there is a sort of partnership that is developed between the website owners and Google.

The Adsense program displays itself in a highly relevant way. How is this achieved? Well, probably the best way to illustrate this would be through an example. Mary hosts a website dedicated to women's clothing. If Mary's website incorporated the Google Adsense program, then the ads would be targeted towards women's clothing. If one of her pages focussed on shoes, then the Adsense ad there would also focus on shoes.

So what determines the price per click? The Adwords side of the equation kicks in here. Publishers of Adwords bid on keywords. When a keyword is more lucrative or sought after, the publisher is willing to pay more for each click. Keywords range anywhere from a few cents to in excess of $50 per click.

It wouldn't be surprising to see someone making some nice money by putting Google Adsense on their website and if their website is generating a decent amount of traffic. Web sites with specific content are created by most Internet marketers with the sole purpose of attracting high paying Adsense ads. -
